From the writings of Saint Francis of Assisi
Death is not the end.
Do not lose sight of the end of life.
Do not forget your purpose and your destiny as a creature of God. What you are in His eyes is what you truly are, and nothing else.
Do not allow the worries and anxieties of the world, or the pressures of office, to sweep away the divine life within you, or to silence the voice of the Spirit of God who guides your great mission to lead humanity to fulfillment.
If you open your heart to God and engrave His plan deeply within it, God will open Himself to you.
Remember that when you leave this earth, you will not be able to take with you what you have received—ephemeral signs of honor, garments of power—but only what you have given: a full heart, enriched by honest work, by love, by sacrifice, and by courage.
Whoever reads and understands the Gospel in Spirit and in Truth will find within it God and heaven, the Angels and paradise itself, all waiting for us to do our part, in order to receive the reward of happiness.
(Saint Francis of Assisi)
